Who is Dr. Stephen Akintayo?
Dr. Stephen Akintayo is a Nigerian author, serial entrepreneur, Realestate mugul, and digital marketing consultant. He is the founder and of Gtext Holdings, a global conglomerate in real estate, agriculture, and digital marketing. His remarkable journey from extreme poverty to becoming one of Africa’s most respected investment coaches is nothing short of inspirational.
Humble Beginnings in Maiduguri
Born on January 28, 1986, in Gonge, Maiduguri (Borno State), to Mr. Victor and Mrs. Deborah Akintayo, Stephen grew up in deep poverty. With no electricity, and sometimes no food, his early life was marked by adversity. After his father's business failed, young Stephen scavenged to afford lunch and his mother often borrowed money to pay school fees.
Education and Early Entrepreneurship
Stephen attended Baptist Primary School in Maiduguri and later Government Secondary School in Jebba, Kwara State. He earned his BSc in Microbiology from Olabisi Onabanjo University. While still a student, he organized campus trade fairs and launched his entrepreneurial journey selling eBooks and GNLD supplements.
In 2008, he founded Gilead Balm Group, a bulk SMS platform that served top brands like MTN, PZ Cussons, GTBank, and Chivita. This venture later evolved into Gtext Global, a multimillion-dollar empire spanning real estate, technology, and education.
From Digital Marketing to Harvard
Dr. Akintayo pursued digital marketing training with the Digital Marketing Institute and Harvard University, and today partners with UK-based companies to scale his businesses globally. He is currently enrolled in Harvard’s Owner/President Management (OPM) Program, an elite executive education designed for top business leaders.
Building a Legacy Through Impact
Beyond business, Dr. Akintayo is deeply passionate about humanitarian work. In 2008, he founded the Stephen Akintayo Foundation, formerly known as Infinity Foundation, to support vulnerable communities, IDP camps in Maiduguri, and underprivileged families in Dustbin Estate, Ajegunle. The foundation also runs Mercy Orphanage, started in 2015.
