The Significance Of Palm Sunday

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF PALM Sunday by Pastor Femi Solomon

Palm Sunday

It is customary to see Christians who attend Orthodox Churches go to Church with palm fronds or come back home with the same. Even though many of them don't have deeper insights into the significance of Palm Sunday, they are far better than the Pentecostals who know close to nothing about it. Irrespective of which side of the divide you find yourself in, this post will help you.

Palm Sunday typifies the day Jesus Christ rode on a new donkey into Jerusalem with His disciples. The Bible says people spread Palm fronds, clothes, and many other things on the floor for Him to ride upon.

Quick One

Your life can typify the donkey. If you give Jesus Christ control of your life, He will bring you into public honor before men.

Back to what I am saying!

Jesus Christ rode into Jerusalem and went straight to the Temple. He saw that the Temple had been turned into a Bureau de change and a marketplace for all manners of trade. He overthrew their tables and flogged them out. This was the only place where Jesus did what some could call 'vawulence', a display of anger.

'And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves Mk. 11:17.

The big question to ask is this, What is the significance of this event and Palm Sunday?

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF PALM SUNDAY

Palm Sunday is an adumbration of a future event called 'THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST'. Make no mistake about it,

RAPTURE IS NOT EQUAL TO THE 2ND COMING OF CHRIST.

There is a seven-year gap between them.

At the Rapture, we will catch up to meet with Jesus in the first Heaven while at His 2nd coming, those who were caught up at the Rapture will descend with Him physically and we will enter into the physical nation of Israel into Jerusalem Rev. 1:7, Zec. 14:4

At this Second coming, the nation of Israel and the people will welcome Him into the City. This is also when 'For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord' Mt. 23:39 will be fulfilled.

The major reason the people will welcome Him is that the nation has been expecting the Promised Messiah to come and deliver them from the tyranny of the pseudo-christ who would have taken over their government both religion and others before this time.

Remember that his sign, 666, is the permission for TRADING Rev. 13:17-18. Without the sign, you can't 'buy or sell'. Jesus cast out those who were 'buying and selling' and said 'Don't turn my Father's house into a 'den of thieves'. Who is the thief? I am sure you know the answer. Casting out those buying or selling on Palm Sunday adumbrated the fact that Jesus Christ will cast out the pseudo-Christ from Jerusalem at His second coming.

This second coming of Christ will end the human government on Earth and the reign of the pseudo-Christ. Of course, there will be a war before this is done.

Palm Sunday assures us of victory over the devil and his work. It assures us of the return of our King and it assures us that God keeps His promises.

We thank the Lord for Palm Sunday and its significances. We thank Him for the assurance of the victory over the devil, his sons, and his works. Glory to be to the KING who reigns forever and ever. Amen.
