Michael Brandon Lake was born on June 21, 1990, in Dallas, Texas, and grew up in Myrtle Beach/Charleston, South Carolina, where his father planted a church. He taught himself guitar through YouTube tutorials and played in his church’s college worship band, eventually serving as a worship leader at Seacoast Church.

Brandon launched his career in 2015 with a successful crowdfunding
campaign leading to his debut album, Closer (2016). This indie
release marked the beginning of his journey as an emerging worship voice .
Bethel Music Era
& Songwriting Success
In January 2019, Brandon signed with Bethel Music. His
co-writing on “This Is a Move” with Tasha Cobbs Leonard garnered a GMA
Dove Award, a breakout moment that earned him his first Grammy
nomination for Best Gospel Performance/Song.
Later that year, he debuted his Bethel solo with “I Need a Ghost”,
the lead single from his acclaimed album House of Miracles
(2020), which peaked at No. 6 on Billboard's Christian Albums chart.

Personal Life &
Family
Brandon married Brittany Ann Schneider on February 5, 2011. They
have three sons: Blaise, Beau, and Banner.
They co-authored a children’s book, Little Lion Lungs, inspired by his
song “Gratitude” to nurture a worshipful home environment.
