Ungodly Relationships
Relationship is a powerful source of influence. Every relationship comes with its own peculiar influence. You choose the influence you want to partake of by choosing the kind of relationship with such influence. The opening verse tells us that he that walks with the wise shall be wise, but the companion of fools shall be destroyed. Amazingly, every relationship is a ship taking you somewhere. Therefore, it is wise to choose your destination before choosing the ship to take you there. The choice of your outcome in life ought to be priority, before choosing the typeof relationship that can deliver it. If wisdom is your choice, then walk with the wise. If destruction is not your destination, don't walk with fools, who do not regard God in their hearts. The fool says in his heart that there is no God. There is no way you will relate with someone without some sort of influence on you as a result of the relationship.
That's why it's important you consciously choose the right relationship. If you've been in a wrong and ungodly relationship, this is the time to sever or cut yourself off from that ungodly relationship. The Bible tels us in 1 Corinthians 15:33, "Be not deceived, evil communication corrupts good manners." You may think it does not matter who you relate with, or that your relationships do not influence you since you are mature enough to know what is good for you.However, that is falsehood and it is the deceit which the enemy has sold to many. It's true that you are mature, but there are principles that you cannot outgrow; you can't go past them. If the will be right. Don't think you're smart and mature enough such that spiritual principles dont corrupt good manners. Influence is passed through the conduit ofrelationship. Influence flows break that ungodly tie, and the influence of ungodliness on you will be broken. Beloved,thisis the wisdom of God.
