"Dancing Around Medley” by Nathaniel Bassey is not just a collection of joyful rhythms; it’s a spiritual statement. A declaration that even in the face of pain, delay, or adversity, we choose to dance. We dance because we know who holds our future. We dance because we’ve seen the end—and it ends in praise.
Dancing as Warfare
Throughout Scripture, dance was a physical expression of spiritual
reality:
- David danced before the Lord with all his
might (2 Samuel 6:14)
- Miriam danced after Israel’s deliverance at
the Red Sea (Exodus 15:20)
- Psalm 149:3 says, “Let them praise His name
with dancing…”
When we dance in worship, especially to a medley like this, we’re not
just moving to a beat—we’re disarming heaviness and activating the
joy of the Lord, which is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
A medley of high praise unto our God.
Psalm 149:3 declares, “Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.”
This sound, born during one of the Hallelujah Challenge editions, inspires a childlike, pure and exuberant praise unto God, with the dance as its signature. Dancing here is to turn, whirl, and spin in joyful admiration unto our God.
But here’s the sweetest part. Not only is this a dance celebrating victory. But more importantly, one that enacts it. A prophetic dance.
As we dance before God, even in the face of battles, adversaries and challenges, the God of our praise, who makes Judah His sanctuary begins to turn things around for good.
Hallelujah !
PSALM 114
1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;
2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.
3 The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.
4 The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.
5 What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?
6 Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?
7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
8 Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
More Than a
Medley - It’s a Movement
Every segment in Dancing Around Medley is an invitation:
- To shake off despair
- To prophesy over our lives
with praise
- To break the yoke of delay,
fear, and stagnation
It's a sound for the barren woman to dance like her womb is full.
It's a rhythm for the waiting man to leap like his promotion has come.
It's a celebration in advance, because faith sees the rain before the cloud
appears.
Why Dance Before
the Miracle?
Because faith doesn’t wait for evidence. It moves as though the
promise is already here.
In this medley, you’re not just dancing for your miracle—you’re
dancing in it. Because in Christ, your testimony is not “maybe” but
“yes and amen” (2 Corinthians 1:20).
Prophetic
Declaration:
I dance because I’m free.
I dance because the chains are broken.
I dance because the Red Sea is parting.
I dance because He has done all things well.
Let Your Dance
Speak
As you sing along or move to Dancing Around Medley, remember:
Your dance is a yes to God’s Word.
Your dance is a strike against depression.
Your dance is faith in motion.
Let the heavens see your joy.
Let the earth hear your praise.
Let your future rise to meet your rhythm.
Dance into your promise—in Jesus’ name.
