Biography Of Steffany Gretzinger - Spirit Revealing

Born November 1984 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, and raised in Ohio by pastoral parents, Steffany (née Frizzell) grew up immersed in church music and prayer. As a teen, she led in her Nazarene church and began writing songs to process life and faith. By 2008, she felt God guiding her to Redding, California, joining the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry to deepen her vocational calling.

Steffany Gretzinger is a prophetic worship leader, singer-songwriter, and revivalist whose voice and presence have profoundly impacted modern worship. While she first rose to prominence with Bethel Music, she later became a beloved guest collaborator in the Maverick City Music movement—helping bridge generations of worshippers seeking deeper intimacy with Jesus.

Rise with Bethel Music

Steffany entered the Bethel Music collective in 2012, first appearing on The Loft Sessions with “You Know Me.” Her debut solo album, The Undoing (2014), was written and recorded during her first pregnancy. It debuted at #2 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums and inside the Top 20 overall.

Her deep, vulnerable voice earned a central role in Bethel’s anthems like “King of My Heart” (For the Sake of the World, 2012).

Solo Albums & Authenticity

  • Blackout (2018): A raw, hymn-like response to personal loss (her father’s battle with cancer). Critics praised it—CCM Magazine called it a “career achievement”.
  • Forever Amen (2020): Her third album under Provident Label Group, with collaborations featuring Chandler Moore and Matt Maher.
  • Faith of My Father (2021): A heartfelt tribute recorded at her childhood church, honoring the legacy of her pastor father.
  • The Narrow Way (July 2023): A continuation of her reflective, prayerful style shaped by life experiences.

 Involvement with Maverick City Music

Steffany Gretzinger is not an original member of Maverick City Music, but she has become a powerful guest contributor and spiritual elder within the collective.

 Key Collaborations:

  • “Voice of God” (2020) – with Chandler Moore & Dante Bowe
A stunning ballad reflecting on the nearness of God’s presence, this song became one of Maverick City’s most cherished singles. Steffany’s hauntingly beautiful vocal delivery was praised for carrying deep reverence and peace.
  • “Move Your Heart” EP (2021) – with Maverick City & UPPERROOM
She joined other worship leaders in spontaneous, Spirit-led worship—ushering in an atmosphere of deep intimacy and humility.

These collaborations reflect her alignment with Maverick City’s mission: unpolished, multicultural, Spirit-filled worship that prioritizes presence over polish.

Transition & Ministry Shift

After spending a decade with Bethel, Steffany felt led in April 2019 to relocate to Nashville, Tennessee, marking a significant transition. She joined Grace Center Church and later signed with Provident Music Group.

 Family & Personal Life

Steffany is married to Stephen Gretzinger, and they have two children: Wonder Grace and Wilder Justice. She openly shares about how motherhood has deepened her intimacy with God, influencing her spiritual rhythm and ministry focus.

“That tiny prophet has led me back to Jesus every day…”

Ministry Vision & Impact

Steffany is known for her prophetic, soul-filled worship and calls worshippers into intimacy with Jesus above performance. She speaks candidly about the danger of platform for its own sake, urging believers to root in the “secret place” of authentic devotion.
