Matthew James Redman (born Feb 14, 1974, Watford, England) is a globally recognized Christian worship leader, singer-songwriter, and author. He has released 16 albums, penned several bestselling worship songs, authored eight books, co-founded influential church movements, and received two Grammy Awards, notably for his iconic anthem “10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)”.

Faith Journey
- Grew up in Watford and
Chorleywood; faced family struggles when his father died by suicide when
Matt was just seven.
- At age 10, God drew him to Christ
during a Luis Palau evangelistic event in London. It was during this time
he began leading worship in his youth group under mentor Mike Pilavachi.
Worship Leadership
& Church Involvement
- At age 20, Matt became a full-time
worship leader, co-founding the Soul Survivor movement and
annual festival in 1993 alongside Mike Pilavachi.
- Led worship at Soul Survivor
Church in Watford until 2002, then took roles in new church plants—The
Point in the U.K., and Passion City Church in Atlanta with Louie
Giglio and Chris Tomlin (2008–2010).
