The Bible and its Speakers

 The Bible and its Speakers

The Bible and its Speakers When you open your Bible, you will find out that the speech of several
personalities are written in it.
It is good if you ask yourself certain questions like
"Who is speaking?" when reading the
Bible. This will help you know the weight and certainty behind what you have read. In the Bible, you will find;

 1. Words spoken by God.
"And God said, Let there be light: and
there was light." Genesis 1:3.

2. Words spoken by Jesus.
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the
truth, and the life: no man cometh unto
the Father, but by me." John 14:6.

 3. Words spoken by the Holy Spirit.
"As they ministered to the Lord, and
fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me
Barnabas and Saul for the work
whereunto I have called them." Acts
13:2.

4. Words spoken by men e.g. Prophets,
kings, good men, bad men, men in pains,
men rejoicing, etc.
kings, good men, bad men, men in pains,
men rejoicing, etc.
kings, good men, bad men, men in pains,
men rejoicing, etc.
kings, good men, bad men, men in pains,
men rejoicing, etc.
"The next day John seeth Jesus coming
unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of
God, which taketh away the sin of the
world." John 1:29.
5. Word spoken by the devil. Don't let this
confuse you. You must know that the
words spoken by the devil are not truth.
He is the father of all liars from the very
beginning.

"Then Satan answered the LORD, and
said, Doth Job fear God for nought?" Job 1:9
 6. Words spoken by angels.
"And the angel answering said unto him,
I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence
of God; and am sent to speak unto thee,
and to shew thee these glad tidings."
Luke 1:19.

7. Words spoken by demons.
"For he said unto him, Come out of the
man, thou unclean spirit. And he asked
him, What is thy name? And he
answered, saying, My name is Legion:
for we are many." Mark 5:8-9.

8. Even animals too!
" And the LORD opened the mouth of the
ass, and she said unto Balaam, What
have I done unto thee, that thou hast
smitten me these three times?" Number 22:18
Knowing who is speaking in a passage
gives you a better understanding of the
passage. For instance, the words of God
the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy
Spirit are to be much more esteemed,
compared to the words of men in the
Bible. While the words of Satan and his
cohorts are not to be esteemed. For the
devil is a liar from the beginning.
We must also realize that we must weigh
every word spoken by other men in light
of the words of our Lord Jesus and the
inspiration behind their utterance. You
must ask, "was this person speaking as a
natural man or by the help of God's
spirit?" Several prophets in the Bible
spoke by the Spirit of God. Yet a few like
Balaam allowed carnality to influence
them. You must also read the
surrounding verses before and after such
speech to understand better what they are saying.
Take for instance, when Job said,
"But he said unto her, Thou speakest as
one of the foolish women speaketh.
What? shall we receive good at the hand
of God, and shall we not receive evil?…"
Job 2:10.
The above statement does not represent
God in full, for Job was speaking as a
man in pain. No man can stand to
receive evil from God, for God doesn’t
tempt any man with evil.
"Let no man say when he is tempted, I
am tempted of God: for God cannot be
tempted with evil, neither tempteth he
any man... Every good gift and every
perfect gift is from above, and cometh
down from the Father of lights, with
whom is no variableness, neither shadow
of turning." James 1:13,17.
The true nature of God is not that He is
responsible for woes that befall people.Even though, like in the case of Job, God
may permit trials along our way. But such
situations will always end in victory for
the believer who endures till the end. Even though, like in the case of Job, God
